Below you will find the current birth preparation classes. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for a detailed overview of the content, structure and organisation!
Overview:
The classes run over 4 weeks, on Wednesday evenings and take 2.5 hours. They are held online using a secure video system and are designed for pregnant people plus their partner.
Participation without a partner is not possible as the classes are designed specifically for both pregnant people and their birth partners (this can also be a friend, or family member- someone who will attend the birth with you)
In more detail:
I‘m a native English speaker and love guiding my international clients through the ins and outs of giving birth in Germany. In our classes I am aware that not everybody has experience of the maternity health system, so I try and make sure the participants are informed and up-to-date with how things work here in a practical way.
I use lots of visual aids and a sense of humour to help you prepare for the most unique experience of a lifetime - the birth of your child.
I‘ll encourage you to feel relaxed and enjoy the class, getting to know other parents-to-be.

- Week 1: Birth in Germany - how does it work here?! + The important role of Birth Partners
- Week 2: Labour and giving birth: stages and mechanisms of birth
- Week 3: Coping mechanisms, comfort measures, pain relief + When nature needs a hand
- Week 4: The first hours and days after birth + Breastfeeding basics
Payment:
The classes for the pregnant person are covered by the health insurance. The fee for the participation of partner is €150 which covers all 10 hours. Up to 80% of this can be reimbursed by the partners health insurance - please check with your provider.
Registration:
I will send you a link to the sign-up form. Once signed up you will be prompted to pay the partner fee and will receive instructions on attending the classes.
